My Dear Friend: Thanks so much for your kind words. You don’t know how much that kind of thing means. I really appreciate it. Someone told me once something I really think is true; “there are few good people you will meet in life and when you do, hold on to them.” In my lifetime so far, you are one of those few good people, and I commend you for that. Last night was a door closing as I open another. The proud tradition that is Lady Warrior Basketball will live on, not just in the team, but in the cheerleaders, the band, the fans, the parents, and all the little girls who look up to us and wish to be like us one day. I am not hurting because it’s over; I’m hurting because I fell short of my dream of playing at a venue like Arco. I shed tears like last night for all the four years of hard work we put in just to make it as far as we did. Forget the playoffs, we won league, we beat Oak Ridge, twice; that’s something I’ll remember for the rest of my life. On the front of the door I close it says, “Galt High School Girls Basketball” but I am a Lady Warrior always. The support of people like you throughout our bumpy season is what has kept us going strong, moving towards victory. Thank you. You are my cheerleader, and next year, even though I’ll be gone, cheer like it’s your last, dance like it’s your last, because it will be Miss Senior. Cheer for the future of Galt Girls Basketball, that will look at the sidelines, win or lose, and see the smiling, cheering faces of the Lady Warrior Cheer Squad. Enjoy your lasts to the fullest. Thanks again for everything. |
